Brimstone Lineups Guide

Controller

American controller with the fastest-execute smokes in the game. Brimstone's three smokes, incendiary, and orbital strike define site execution tempo.

Sky Smoke — iPad Lineups Per Map

Brimstone's Sky Smoke is the fastest-deploying smoke in Valorant. Unlike other controller smokes that require line-of-sight placement, Brimstone's tactical map lets you place all three smokes simultaneously, anywhere on the map. This makes him the best agent for fast executes.

On Ascent A site, place first smoke on the heaven entrance to block CT vision, second on the back of A site to cover defender cubby, and third on A main to block the retake path from short. The three-smoke setup takes less than 2 seconds to deploy, giving your team a 5-second window before defenders can react.

On Bind B site, smoke the tube exit and the back of B site simultaneously. The third smoke covers long hall. This three-smoke setup blocks every defender entry to B site and lets your team walk onto site uncontested. The smoke duration is 14.25 seconds — more than enough for a full site execute and plant.

On Icebox A site, place smokes on the belt (blocking Green), the back of A (blocking CT), and the A main entrance (blocking mid rotate). The elevated angles on Icebox mean your smokes are even more effective — defenders can't shoot through or over them due to the high ceilings.

Incendiary Post-Plant and Area Denial

Brimstone's incendiary does 60 DPS and lasts 7 seconds. That's 420 total damage. A well-placed incendiary on spike makes the round unwinnable for the defuser without a smoke to extinguish. The incendiary's damage ticks every 0.5 seconds, dealing 30 damage per tick.

Post-plant incendiaries win rounds. On Ascent, after planting on A site, fall back to A short and throw the incendiary onto the default plant position. The fire covers the entire plant area and no defuser can survive 7 seconds of 60 DPS. If they have a smoke, they can sit in it — but the moment the smoke fades, they burn.

On Haven B site, throw the incendiary from CT to the back of B site. The fire covers the default plant and forces the defuser to peek into your crosshair to find a safe spot. Even if they try to defuse through the fire, they'll take 180 damage before the defuse completes — a guaranteed kill.

Incendiary can also delay enemy pushes. On Split, throw an incendiary at the bottom of B ramp when you hear footsteps. The fire blocks the ramp for 7 seconds, giving your team time to rotate and set up. Combine with a molly from your teammate for 14 seconds of zone denial.

Orbital Strike Ultimate Combos

Orbital Strike is the largest area-of-effect ultimate in Valorant, covering a 5-meter radius laser that deals 75 damage per tick for 8 seconds. That's a total potential of 600 damage to anyone standing in the full duration. The laser goes through walls and objects, making it deadly in tight spaces.

Combining Orbital Strike with Breach's ultimate creates an unescapable death zone. Breach stuns the entire site for 5 seconds, then Orbital Strike lasers anyone in the stunned zone. The enemies can't move out of the laser because they're stunned, taking 5 full ticks of 75 damage each — 375 damage.

With Gekko, the combo is even simpler. Gekko's ultimate detain holds enemies in place for 4 seconds. Brimstone's Orbital Strike on top of detained enemies guarantees they take full damage. This combo has won countless rounds in professional play and is easy to execute in ranked matches.

Post-plant Orbital Strike on Ascent B site: stand at B main and launch the strike on the default plant area. The laser covers the entire bombsite and any defuser must either die or stop defusing. Combined with a well-placed incendiary, you can stall the defuse for 15+ seconds without ever peeking.

Fast Executes and Team Coordination

Brimstone enables the fastest site executes in Valorant. The ability to place three smokes in under 2 seconds means your team can go from waiting to executing in less time than any other controller can place a single smoke. This speed is Brimstone's greatest strength.

On Bind, coordinate with a Breach or Skye for a full-site flash execute. Smoke the site, have your initiator flash, and push simultaneously. The three-smoke coverage means defenders have no safe angle to hold — they must either fall back or fight from a disadvantaged position.

Save one smoke for post-plant. After the initial site execute, you'll have 1 or 2 smokes remaining (depending on how many you used). Save the last smoke for after the plant — it can cover the defuser's vision or block a retake path. A post-plant smoke on the heaven entrance can delay the retake by 5+ seconds.

Brimstone's value decreases on open maps like Breeze and Pearl. On these maps, his smokes are shorter (14.25 seconds vs Astra's 15.25 and Viper's 15 with fuel management). Pick Brimstone on Ascent, Bind, Split, and Icebox where his fast smokes and tight corridors maximize his effectiveness.

Brimstone's incendiary does 60 DPS and lasts 7 seconds. That's 420 total damage. A well-placed incendiary on spike = the round is unwinnable for defuser without a smoke to extinguish.

Incendiary Map-Specific Lineups

Brimstone's incendiary molly is one of the best post-plant tools in Valorant. On Ascent A site, stand in A short and aim at the corner of the raised platform. Launch the molly — it lands directly on default plant and covers the entire defuse area. The 60 DPS means any defuser survives less than 3 seconds. For more lineups, see the Valorant Wikipedia page and Brimstone page on Valorant Wiki.

On Split B site, stand at the back of B main and aim at the second ventilation grate on the ceiling. A single left-click throw lands the molly directly on default plant. Practice this lineup until you can hit it consistently — it wins post-plant rounds on Split every time.
